The OSHA 30 hour program was originally developed by the U.S. Department of Labor

companies throughout the United States and
is intended to provide instruction on a variety of safety and health standards to people with some safety
responsibility. Participants will review OSHA policies,

Health Hazards and Personal Protective Equipment

Description:
This seminar focuses
on the recognition and evaluation of health hazards in the
construction industry, as well as the different types of Personal
Protective Equipment, including their proper uses. Participants
will be instructed in the recognition of potential hazards, proper
evaluation methods, and applicable standards, of Subpart D, as
well as personal protective equipment for eyes, face, head,
protective clothing, respiratory devices and protective shields as

Confined Space Entry
Seminar
Description:
This seminar will
address the hazards associated with confined spaces and it will
outline the duties and responsibilities of all members of a
confined space entry team, emergency rescue procedures, and plan
development. It is
designed to enable participants
to safely and confidently understand and evaluate the hazards and
procedures associated with confined spaces;
differentiate between a
permit-required confined space and a non-permit-required confined
space; and will
learn to
recognize, evaluate, prevent,
and abate safety and health hazards associated with
permit-required confined space entry.
This seminar will also discuss the need for
appropriate personal protective equipment and the selection
characteristics for each level of protection. Topics include the
recognition of confined space hazards, entry procedures, rescue
equipment, testing and monitoring for hazardous atmospheres, ventilation

Qualified Rigging
and Qualified Crane Signaler,
Includes the New Crane Standard
Seminar
Description:
This seminar will
cover
the New Crane and
Derricks Final Rule, Subpart CC, which requires all riggers to be
“Qualified”; and crane signalers to be “trained”. Thomas Safety
Solutions has developed this "New Crane Standard, Qualified Rigger and
Qualified Crane Signalers Seminar", which
is designed to
deliver the knowledge requirements for Qualified Riggers, as
defined by 1926.1401, and
Qualified Crane Signaling personnel, as per 1926.1428, to participants.
Participants will learn to calculate weights, load tensions
on slings, how to determine weight functions and proper rigging
practices and techniques.
Seminar Objectives:
This seminar is designed to
deliver the knowledge requirements for rigging and signaling
personnel to participants, and will meet and exceed OSHA's New Crane
Standard requirements for riggers and signalers. Upon
successful seminar completion, the participant will be able to calculate load
weight and determine load center of gravity, calculate stress angles
and determine the safe working load, select proper hitch, sling, and
rigging hardware to use within their safe working loads, proper
Inspection
procedures, control the lift site and the cranes area of operation,
and understand the "Riggers" responsibility per 1926.1401 and meet

Training Seminars
Seminar
Description:
Thomas Safety Solutions
