Military Service:
In 1966, Nicholas enlisted and served 4 years in
the US Marine Corps as a radio operator/infantry man.
His service also included deployment as a radio operator in
Vietnam from 1968 to 1969.
Experience:
Nick is the founder of Thomas Safety Solutions, Inc., with a proven
track record for managing and overseeing the safety and health
programs for large companies and construction projects.
Nick’s positive attitude and desire to partner with companies

He has over 45 years of construction experience combined with 28
years of progressively responsible construction management
experience and has over 18 years in the Safety and Health industry
specializing in bringing safety and health solutions to thousands of
workers across the country in both General Industry, Manufacturing
and Construction.
Prior to founding Thomas Safety Solutions, Inc. in June, 2001, Nick
spent 31 years in the construction industry; holding positions from
Superintendent, Project Manager, Safety and Loss Control Manager to
Corporate Director of Safety positions with several national
commercial construction companies throughout the United States; and
has owned his own construction company.
His invaluable experience, along with his technical expertise
and education in safety and health has prepared him to analyze and
manage complex safety issues and makes him an exceptional choice to

As Corporate Director of Safety for one of the largest masonry
company's in the United States, Nick developed their corporate
safety management system, which significantly improved safety
performance; leading them to safety excellence by developing an
effective Safety and Health Management System and reducing their
injury rate, enhancing their reputation as an industry leader, and
significantly increasing their return-on-investments.
Nick has also worked with large insurance carriers with
their risk management departments.
He has witnessed tragic and fatal accidents and has seen the
effect accidents can have on companies and individuals alike.
His primary belief is that most accidents are due to unsafe
behaviors caused by human error above the worker level, and systemic
changes can be made that lead to safe behaviors and significantly
reduce accident risk.
Nick provides a higher level of safety excellence by promoting
proactive responses and developing opportunities which relate to
employee safety. He has
developed Safety Management Systems, which have improved safety
performance and enhanced company’s reputation, in their industry, by
leading them to safety excellence through effective Safety
Management Systems.
Nick’s responsibilities include authoring curriculum
materials, which are acknowledged as some of the most comprehensive
courses available, providing general safety consulting services such
as Safety Perception Surveys; Safety Program Evaluation Studies;
Risk Evaluation, Job Safety Analysis; Safety Management Assessments;
Comprehensive Safety Training Courses, including Safety Management
Leadership Training; OSHA Mediation Representation for claims and
violations, along with investigating and analyzing complex problems.
