Fall Protection Competent Person Course

Course Description:

This Fall Protection Competent Person Course is designed for individuals who are responsible for the supervision, implementation and monitoring of a managed fall protection program. It provides a fundamental understanding of the OSHA and ANSI requirements for The Fall Protection Competent Person, as well as providing the participant with solid practical knowledge on how to identify and control common fall hazards. Participants will expand their knowledge and ability to identify hazardous conditions, develop programs and make equipment selections to properly deal with fall hazards. This Course will also develop an overall knowledge of how to select, inspect, use and install fall protection systems, and covers hazard identification and applicable commercial and residential construction regulations. This training may also cover the New Residential Fall Protection Directive, which became effective June 16, 2011, if your company needs this training. The new directive requires all residential builders to comply with 29 CFR 1926.501(b)(13).

Course Objective:

Upon successful completion of the Course, participants will be able to recognize and mitigate fall hazards through a hierarchy of fall hazard controls and will have a basic understanding of the following:

Thomas Safety Solutions Inc offers two options:

Option 1 (Total Hours6 Hours): Fall Protection for the Competent Person (Basics). This Course will teach the basics for everything you need to know to meet the requirements of a 'Competent Person'; and Upon successful completion, participants will receive a wallet card from Thomas Safety Solutions.

Option 2 (Total Time 2 Days): Advanced Fall Protection for the Competent Person. This is a complete training Course which will exceed OSHA and ANSI requirements for the 'Competent Person', and includes hands on training; Upon successful completion, participants receive a wallet card and a certification of training from Thomas Safety Solutions, Inc.

Total Hours: (Dependent on Option)

There is an exam at the end of this Course, which requires a minimum score of 70% or better to pass.
