EVCAVATION & TRENCHING
COMPETENT PERSON SEMINAR
Course Description:
This Excavation and Trenching Competent Person Course is intended
for individuals designated as The Excavation Competent Person, by
their employer, during excavation and trenching activities, which
may include managers, supervisors, lead workers or operators. It
provides a fundamental understanding of OSHA's Excavation and
Trenching Standards for the Competent Person. This course
will cover OSHA's Excavation Standard.
Course Objective:
Upon
successful completion of the course, participants will be
familiar with regulations, requirements and
related issues; understand the responsibilities of "The Excavation
Competent Person";
be
able to recognize
existing and predictable conditions that are
hazardous or dangerous;
be
familiar with soils analysis and the soils classification system;
and
be familiar with the selection
and use of various protective systems.
This course is designed to provide the
necessary training and safety awareness component to meet and
exceed the requirements of "The Excavation Competent Person" as
defined in OSHA's Excavation Standard.
